The Street Department will start it’s Spring Cleanup Program on Monday, April 13th & leaf collection will pass through the Town one time this season.  Leaf collectors will manage Merrillville residential leaves (NO BRANCHES, you can take them to 5750 Tyler Pl.-April 6 thru October 2) Our leaf collectors are vacuum units, only loose leaves will be collected from the curbside or the edge of the street.   Pick Up Weeks:  Leaf collection will begin on Monday April 13th, and run through Friday April 24th. The Town of Merrillville is proud to participate in the Cap-A-Thon program offered by the Lake County Solid Waste Management District. We have a goal of collecting 200 pounds of plastic caps by June. If successful, the caps will be recycled to make a bench or picnic table at no cost for our community. We’re asking residents and businesses to save your plastics caps and drop them off at Town Hall, 7820 Broadway. Please clean the caps before donating them.
